Ninth World

Without giving any spoilers (I'm as far as the Lower Ward) does anyone know if there's a connection between the Ninth World storage facility in the Lower Ward area and the Ninth World of the TToN setting?

None. Just think of it as a happy coincidence.

Given the fact that the same guy that created Numenera setting (Monte Cook) also was heavily involved with the Planescape setting, it might be more than that. But just "might", I think.

None at all, actually, in actual lore.

Had the Numenera setting even existed at the time Planescape Torment was released?

Numenera definitely didn't exist at the time, but it's faintly possible Monte Cook named Numenera's setting off of the vault or something related to it.

Monte Cook used kickstarter to crowdfund Numenera in August 2012. His active involvment with the tabletop Planescape campaign setting was rougly between 1996 and 1998. The dates alone make it rather unlikely for it to be the case.

Side-note: Kinda wish Monte Cook was more involved in current D&D. His settings/work are/was/is a lot cooler than the standard Forgotten Realms stuff that's been released by Wizards of the Coast in the last few years.

Too bad Numenera is the worst thing ever released. A crude bastardization of a beloved game.

    Is Numenera a good game?

The PnP tabletop game? Indeed! The cRPG one? It's getting better and better with each update.
