Canned food recipe suggestion wanted
This is what called "corn-cheese"
Contains
1 can of sweet corn (like, green giants or...)
1 spoon of butter
1 spoon of shredded pizza cheese (mozarella?)
Just put everything above in a pan then cook with weak fire and stir it until it become golden brown color.
Or, microwave 2 min.
This goes well with beer or soju, vodka or even whiskey.
You have any of *simple* recipe suggestion with canned sweet corn or other canned food?

- 1 can of sauerkraut ( I recommend the "sour" kind for this )
- 1 thick slice of gammon
- 500 g wheat flour
- 3 spoon of salt
Drain the canned sauerkraut of its water. Then pour the freshly drained water into the flour. Knead the dough until you feel it's elastic, yet firm enough (add more flour if too watery). Add the salt for the taste and knead some more. Then roll hand-sized balls of dough and squeeze them flat. Take about half a handful of sauerkraut onto the dough and place a piece of gammon in it. Finally form the dough into dumpling shape.
All that's left is baking them to a fine golden colour. I use a frying pan without oil for this. But stoves, coal grills and even bonfires may also be of use.
All in all a simple, filling dish. Great for outdoor camping.
Didn't feel like typing this whole recipe in. This is really tasty and not too much work.
1 tin high quality sardines (or anchovies) packed in olive oil)
Pasta noodles
1 small red onion
Handful of ripe cherry tomatoes
Bunch of fresh flat leaf parsley
Cracked black pepper
Pinch of red pepper
If you like canned fish, take a tin of high-quality sardines (or anchovies) packed in good olive oil, a bunch of ripe cherry tomatoes, 1 small sliced red onion, and a handful of fresh chopped flat leaf parsley. Boil some thick straight pasta like bravetta or even linguini noodles. Add everything together and stir. Top with freshly ground black pepper and a pinch or more of hot red pepper flakes to add some heat.
Except for the boiling of the pasta, there is no cooking required, only some quick veg chopping and then assembly. This dish is great for those tired days when you get home and do not want to cook but want something that tastes home-cooked regardless.
You will need: 1 large mixing bowl, one mixing spoon, knife, can opener.
Ingredients:
1 Can of Chick Peas
1 Can of Red Kidney Beans
1 Can of Black Beans
1 Green Bell Pepper
1 Red Bell Pepper
1 Yellow Bell Pepper
1 small Red Onion
8-12 grape or Cherry Tomatoes
2 tbl spoons of olive oil
Lemon zest or juice
the spices: Garlic powder, basil, sage, rosemary (roughly teaspoon each)
Open cans, strain and rinse the beans in cold water and add to bowl.
Dice vegetables and add to the bowl
Add Lemon, oil and spices
Stir/toss and serve. Feeds 4-8
This and canned corn are literally the only things I make with canned goods. With Canned Corn, I usually just open it and eat it raw, or add it with black beans and rice.
Another really easy canned food recipe just uses canned mushroom soup and green beans:
2 cans (14.5 oz each) French-style green beans, drained Save $
1 can (10 3/4 oz) condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup milk
1 can (2.8 oz) French-fried onions
- You can forgo the onions and fry them yourself or just caramelize some onions which is super easy to do just put the chopped onions in a pan with some oil, and leave them on there FOREVER (usually like 30 minutes at medium heat) you don't even have to stir really unless you want to look busy. They go great with everything so it's a nice to do for virtually anything you want to taste better.
1 Heat oven to 350°F. In 1 1/2-quart casserole or glass baking dish, mix green beans, soup and milk.
2 Bake 20 to 25 minutes, topping with onions during last 5 minutes of baking, until bubbly.
You can substitute whatever kind of green beans you want - but if you use fresh you'll want to boil them for a bit to soften them up unless you like crunchy green beans.
