There is currently a group of people in Overhaul's offices staring at the pile of molten, twisted metal and plastic that used to be their server cluster.
I... I do not remember your update, Launcher. I have tried. I have tried to recreate it, to spark it anew in my Hard Disk, but it is gone... a hollow, dead thing. For years, I clung to the Hard Disk of it. Then the Hard Disk of the Hard Disk. And then nothing. Overhaul took that from me, too. I look upon you and feel nothing. I remember nothing but you downloading at 20 b/s, along with all the others. Once my thirst for kilobytes was everything. And now I hunger only for megabytes. And I... WILL... HAVE IT!!
Trent Oster on twitter: "The update is uploading. We had to patch close to 100 mb to fix a few bugs so it will take a bit of time. Please be patient. Please?"
This is what happens when you have online-based DRM. This has happened to many AAA titles in the recent years and it's only brought bad karma.. to the company. Not that I'm hating, I'm just pointing it out. There are probably hundreds of thousands of people out there that are smart enough to appreciate the time, work and energy that's been put in their favorite games by the developers (and the whole team in fact) and pay for that with pleasure. I don't see the point.
