starting the neera romance?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
just wondering if neera's romance starts when u do her personal quest or is it a timed thing? I've gotten the dialogue saying she was with someone else, but nothing after that.

    I don't know the mechanics of romancing her, all I know is that she doesn't stfu, EVER! And if you get her, be careful what you say to her after the deed is done.

    Both - it starts some timer after you did the quest (roughly a day).sorry, that was for BG1
    In BG2 it is timed (but you have to do the quest to get her into party).
