BG2: Temple District: Rift Area: the mouth of statue; secret door?

Hey guys,
I've been playing BG a lot and for me it looked always like the statue (POS 2)which spawns Huge Spiders and a Wandering Horror when you click on it, looks like a door. In all the playthrough take I tried various stuff to place in there, but never succeeded to open something. Also I never found with Google someone mentioning something about a door, but it looks like one. That's why I'm asking here and now: have you ever get something opened or did someone check the original map (with mapeditor?) and can tell me there is for sure nothing?

In EET there is a mod that adds a secret passage into a deeper part of Amaunator's temple in this area, but it is not using the mouth but the entrance of the side building far up in the NE of this area. So it seems that some modder was inspired as well by the area and its possibilities for further secrets.
