BG II on Windows 10

I recently bought a new laptop running Windows 10. I have installed my copy of BG II SoA but when I try to launch it I get BGMain.exe Application Error 0xc0000022. Can anyone tell me how to fix this in layman terms please. I'm not a big tech guy so I'll need step-by-step instructions. If anyone can help I really appreciate it!!!
