Wrong string references for no clear reason

chimericchimeric Member Posts: 1,163
For "Lighting," I did not want to include an installer so that players can pick which effect replacements to install. In some cases, I had to edit a few vanilla spells to Play Visual Effect instead of Lighting Effects etc. Otherwise those were the same SPLs that I have myself and they read normally for me. But someone playtesting "Lighting" reports that he gets wrong text for the spell names and descriptions. I just reinstalled BG:EE in a different folder, ran Near Infinity there and I see that the string numbers are the same on both setups. So why can this be happening? Can someone please try putting this SPL in his override (Holy Smite) and telling me if it reads all right?

    26187 = Holy Smite
    works in BGEE and BGEE+SoD
    Does not work in BG2EE of course, you get a dialogue line from BG2 there.

    So you checked it? Was he using it in the second game? I'm going to ask.

    Thanks.
