BD- consider becoming the central hosting point for NWN modules

Dear BD,

please consider becoming the central hosting point for NWN modules and campaigns.

As you will provide continuous support for NWN game, it is so natural to do so. You can become new nwnvault that was hosted for so many years at ign.

Get in touch with guys at https://neverwintervault.org/ who did AMAZIG job and service to NWN community by saving all mods that were worked hard by NWN moders.

Please consider it.

Best,
Aarionn

I'm telling you if they just manage to get steam workshop working with this it would be a thing of beauty.

Personally I'll be happy with Nexus Mod Manager integration, which I feel will be inevitable.

After what happened with NWVault and the Bioware forums, I want the mods hosted somewhere they will live in perpetuity without any fear the website will be destroyed down the road.

    1) The Administrator for NeverwinterVault is Niv and he is working on the EE and has been hired by Beamdog in some capacity already.

    2) Steamworks would alienate over half the playerbase who purchased this game through GoG

    3) Nexus Mod Manager integration would be very easy to do but not totally necessary. Most custom content for players is Drag and Drop then your finished. Not nearly as involved or complicated as something like GameBryo or Infinity Engine.

FYI Nexus / NeverwinterVault have been hosting NWN1 / NWN2 content for years now.

See discussion at Neverwinter Vault. Niv says Beamdog has no plans in this direction.

If NWVault sticks around, that's fine. Steamworkshop is also ok. Bethesda games function with multiple mod curators, so I don't see why NWN can't function similarly.

Single player game vs Multiplayer game is the main reason.

i'd rather the modules stay in one location. unlike bg mods whee they are spread across 5 different sites.

There are advantages to both approaches, but I think I would prefer that, too.

    Well obviously not tomorrow.
    That is completely unrealistic.
    But... end of year?

Very unlikely and also completely unrealistic IMO. There isn't even a consensus on what the best method would be or what it should look like. AFAIK.

Nexus and the Vault are perfectly viable. Nexus especially has worked for skyrim for years and if you want Nexus Mod Integration, your taking to the wrong forum. ;)

We have some proof of concepts, we have ideas, and we have wishes. That's it. End of year is very unlikely (but not impossible). This is absolutely zero-promises; just to say that we're going to be very careful so that nothing breaks and no one gets left behind.

i'd like if there vvas a vvay you could make all the modules exe files to make installing them easier. there are afevv like that but most you have to do it manually.

Please bear in mind that the people who actually build NWN modules and campaigns have a say in where we choose to host our content.
