NWN:EE and Xp, Vista etc.

Just curious here, because it's a 15 year old game and should run regardless despite how old the pc is, which in turn just means you could probably play no matter where you are at the moment.

FAQ stated though it's Win 7 or higher. How does that make sense? If people run on toaster pc's will the game simply not start anymore?

It's not that it won't run :) it's that beamdog won't help you if you have issues because it's not a supported OS plusi s doesn't have fixes specific for those OS's

It won't run on XP, Vista, unfortunately. There're a lot of changes to the code in NWN:EE, so it's already not the same game as the original NWN, in the tech sense.

@deliciouslag I will look into the technical reasons why we marked the minimum system requirements as Windows 7 and get back to you when I know more.

We can't guarantee support for Windows XP because a number of external libraries that we use in the game now require Windows 7. As @JuliusBorisov explained, even though the game looks similar on the surface, there have been many changes to the underlying code which makes it infeasible for us to target XP as our minimum supported platform.
