new difficulty settings?

change how the difficulty settings work?
add in more roll factors than just hardcore dnd and very difficult make a legend difficulty to make it more challenging in the new campaigns you plan to put out or even a SCALE difficulty option.

yes like that only i was thinking of adding a scale difficulty to wear all the mobs level up as you do on a even playing field. but i like your example alot. and removing the pvp part for when you just want to kill monsters with your friends would be nice as well.

I think you mean something like dynamic CR, which has been introduced on NWN2 PW Baldur's Gate (BGTSCC). Given that they did it, it surely can be managed, however there would probably be balance issues:

    1. Caster mobs, presuming the AI is improved, scale up rather more steeply than melee types and can suddenly make an area too difficult; and
    2. XP Reward increases, which means the character can reach higher levels, which in turn might create further issues.

Basically it is quite a lot of work for every campaign/module/PW creator to re-balance things. That being the case it would have to be a toggle switch, off by default. So the effort might not be worth the candle.

now that you mention it it would be rather difficult but they could go with the one he put in they already have the 200% option in its just mashed in with everything it my be easier to just separate the options on the difficulty side. and make the pvp more of a option than a requirement I'm tired of my buddy splashing me and making the game less fun....

I like to play with damage from NPCs increased to 140%. Very Difficult is too challenging for me, and the next easier option is too easy. Meant manually editing a 2da file, but that should be simple to code in. Adding a bunch of other options might confuse a lot of newbies. Maybe hide this behind an Advanced Options button?

that does actually make alot of sense it would make the new guys maybe add in a difficulty manual on the side note in the launcher that will explain the way it works.

Custom difficulty could be great, but what we also need is revisiting the Very Hard difficulty, because it's completely off as it is right now. The doubled damage should cover not only base weapon damage (as is the case now), but also extra damage from feats and ability modifier and spell damage.

didn't see this before so here's my idea reposted

had an idea for the game based off some skyrim mods i played and used,

    https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/33395/

    http://nwn.wikia.com/wiki/Difficulty_setting

what if instead of the usual difficulty settings we added that players can tweak the different things as they like,

you want an verry easy game but players can die, enemies and party deal full damage or 75% damage, aoo work both ways, firendly fire does 0 or 50 or 70% damage to your allies, go for it, want pertifaction to be permanent or last longer then vanilla, go for it, want charm and domanition to work on you like they do enemies? go for

    the choice is yours

i feel that a trully tweakable and customiblze system would be great, players can set it how they like
