I'm from Brazil, so here is never too cold. Unfortunately.
do you guys ever get snow there?
Rarely, but only in very specific locations way down to the south with high altitudes.
I'm from Rio de Janeiro (aka Hell de Janeiro). The first time I saw snow was last year, close to my thirty's, and was one of the most peaceful things I ever saw.
My wife and I on our honeymoon in San Bariloche, Argentina.
...you can spit on a lamppost and watch the spit instantly turn to ice. A strange little game we had as kids when waiting for the bus and trying to not freeze to death.
It's so cold here today I saw a politician with his hands in his own pockets.
They were just checking to make sure the bribe money was still there...
Edit: I used 'they' instead of 'he' to not sound sexist even though I have a feeling that male politicians are more susceptible to bribes than females (call it a hunch).
It's so cold up on the mountain today a feral cat(s?) has taken shelter and is peeing underneath part of the house (hard dirt). The smell of cat pee permeates the inner porch area where it is open to the outside underneath. First I thought it was Ms Kitty, my yard dog and hiking buddy of a watch cat that had snuck in and pee'd on the rug. That's really not like her though. Took the rug out yesterday but this morning the smell was worse. She's got a nice enclosed rabbit hutch with wall to wall insulation and blankets so is warm and cozy.
I finally saw the suspect this morning after she gave him the business end of her paws when he approached her food bowl. She even took on a big dog moochin around the house last night as well, givin him one heck of nose swipe (my first thought was a bear coming down the stairs but they are the next valley over). Guess it could be worse, the skunk could have come back (the only critter Ms Kitty won't charge).
I'm all for critter rights and all but lawd, gets up the nose that does something fierce. Sorry Ms Kitty for the suspicions. Now, sic 'em! Get them squatters off the mountain!
