IWD:EE Level up confusion

in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition
I am a Sorcerer - Dragon Disciple and am presently leveling up from Lvl 7 to Lvl 8. After I click on "Level Up" the dialogue says I will be able to add 2ea - Lvl 4 Spells and 1ea - Lvl 3 Spell. When I click "Accept" it then gives me a choice of only 1 - Lvl 4 Spell. Could not find any information in the Manual. So, what am I doing wrong?

    The "Additional Spellcasting Ability" listed at level-up is referring to additional spells per day, not additional spells known.
