I asked a question about if BGIIEE had changed as you received more XP from SOD but that was not the case. However, somebody mentioned that the 10 % bonus from the original BG2 game had been taken away.
How did that work???

back in the early days of the EEs where only a certain amount of people were allowed on these forums ( before the forums were officially open to the public ) i was one of the lucky early ones to come in, and help talk about some of the bugs that the BG series had, and the 2 i remember helping tell the team to fix was that basilisks made you save vs death instead of save vs petrify in the original, so they changed it over to petrify instead, and that in bg2 you gained that silly +10% XP thing which really made no sense ( rumor has it that it was "implemented" for a reason, something to do on the lines that you were a bhaalspawn or some such, but the case was so weak and didnt really make sense ) so it was taken out
Too bad EE removed it. The correct thing, accordingly to PnP, would be:
i) implement a stat check
ii) include the bonus on quest's XP.
Wait, did I type that out loud?
Now I don't think it would translate well in a XP rich campaign such as BG but in some PnP campaigns it could be the difference between being level 1 for a year real life and reaching the next level in just a few months of play...
The extra XP for high stats could be added as an optional rule but as an always on feature it just accelerates even more the rapid pace of level ups in BG II.
"Prime Requisite is the ability score or scores that are most important to a particular
class. A fighter must be strong and a wizard must be intelligent; their prime requisites,
therefore, are Strength and Intelligence, respectively. Some character classes have more
than one prime requisite. Any character who has a score of 16 or more in all his prime
requisites gains a 10% bonus to his experience point awards."
