changing a creature texture via scripting

Would it be possible to add a function that changes a texture of a creature. Like for example a default to burned troll. Well there are many possiobilities with a function like that...we could add facial expression via textures onto Npcs etc...

So something like "get_texture" and "replace texture" you know ;)
