Bounty Hunter and thief snares

I thought the bounty hunters special set snare ability allowed them to be set at range? My 7th level bounty hunter in BGI has the same range for his special snares as his regular ones.

Question 2: how much damage does a regular snare cause? The special one is detailed well, but I can’t find any info on the basic snares.

As for the damage, right-click the set snare button to see the description.

I’m on an iPhone, so it’s EE, but I’ll have to figure out how to right click on a touch screen.
