Need to spend 60k gold asap (Chap 5)

Hi all

I am in chapter 5. Just finished TotSC and I have around 60k gold. I would love some tips on what to buy and where. Gear, Potions and other consumables to make the rest of the game as painless as possible.

I have ran out of places to buy healing potions. I'm having a hard time to find any good gear and generally just confused to as which potions and protection scrolls are useful.

EDIT: Now I have over 80k gold. I wish there were more healing potions around or at least stronger ones. This game doesn't make sense economy wise. I just hate the idea of finishing the game with 100k hard earned gold because there are not enough shops and items to buy.

Protection from Fire scrolls do not protect you from cold damage.

Sell your wands and buy back at full charge.

If you're going to SoD, buy gems.

Recharging rings of invisibility will use up a good chunk of your gold.

Buy spells from High Hedge - buy every spell your Mage, Skald, etc doesn't have.

Buy the best magical arrows, bolts, etc. you can use from places like Sorceror's Sundries in Baldur's Gate (and elsewhere). The explosive ones are fun .

With ranged weapons, I think people often find a +1/+2 bow, etc. and then simultaneously use regular ammo and sit on tonnes of gold. They don't realise that to make that weapon perform at it's best you also need to be using the best ammo - which can be expensive .

IMO, BG:EE could be improved a little if they didn't let the money you can collect run away in the latter parts of the game. Agreed?

I think it's inevitable. I don't think I've ever played an RPG where I didn't have enough money for everything by the end of the game.
