Two-handed Axes: why not?

I've just finished the Red Queen's War trilogy by Mark Lawrence - the Wheel of Osheim is the best of the three -, and it inspired me to build an ax-wielding barbarian named Snorri for the Baldur's Gate saga.

Unfortunately, BG does not seem to have two-handed axes of any kind. I'm stuck with swords for now.

My question is: do we have a mod for it already? I tried searching for it, but couldn't find anything. Or at least nothing that mentioned the addition of 2-handed axes in the description.

There's only Halberds in the BG series, unfortunately.
IWD does have two-handed axes, so you can try that instead.

I'm unaware of any BG mod that adds two-handed axes though it's somewhat probable that one exists.

Two choices for you: IWDification's Two-Handed Axes component adds some two-handed axes to the game. Alternatively, the Two-Handed Axes component from Tweaks Anthology lets you wield every axe in the game as either a one- or two-handed weapon.

Yes, though IWDification's two-handed axes will remain strictly two-handed.
