where do I tell it to look for the save files?

    most likely in your Documents folder.

    @mro78, as hackinslash has suggested, the path is in your documents folder:

    Set your directory path to (you will need to browse the first part for your documents):
    ..\Documents\Baldur's Gate - Enhanced Edition\
