Clearing "Idle hands" quest

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
How do you clear the idle hands quest? I've given them ale and swords but its not showing as finished. Do you have to buy the swords & ale, as I got the ale from the guild and swords from various battles

    After you're done with the Umar Hills main quest, return to the Umar Cave, and you might meet the young adventurers again, thus clearing the quest :)

    Although the variation of a smile you can use describing that depends on which items you have given them...
