Can I get a BD copy if I bought on steam?

I know if you bought a BD launcher copy, you would get a steam key. Does it work the other way around? Had I known this initially I would have gotten the BD copy

    That being said, if I buy a copy for the beamdog launcher, can I get the steam key and give to a friend? Are they different keys for the purposes of playing online and/or allowed to be given away?
