Options for improving party AI?

Im using the advanced AI setting and while it works OK, I noticed some issues with it. For example, clerics never turn undead because attacking/spellcasting takes priority. NPCs NEVER cast certain spells either...mages will cast horror but not glitterdust for example. I couldnt get my party mage to use spells like burning hands or scorcher either.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to improve this? Are there better scripts out there than advanced AI?

@Question2, Have a look at these. They may suit your needs and @sarevok57 has done a splendid job.

I use Standard Attack, Thief Controlled and Cleric Controlled ONLY. Then I et the AI take care of all the minor fights, and turn it of whenever there is some more challeging enemy.
