NWN:EE Dreaded 'Preload Complete' status. Multiplayer asking for CD key.

After purchasing from Beamdog and installing, the download started and progress now reads 100.00%. However it says Downloading... in orange text top left of the launcher and where the play button is expected it says 'preload complete'.

When I launch the game from the nwwmain.exe and attempt to run multiplayer it asks me for a CD-key.

Hello! First of all, you're using an old client. Please use the supported one. https://www.beamdog.com/about/client_faq

You can find your CDKey if you log into Beamdog.com with your account, in the "Keys" section.
