I hope they are hard at work trying to fix these issues. Common guys - work harder!!! :D
  • SkydreeSkydree Member Posts: 36
We all have NVIDIA cards. Could it be something to do with that maybe?

On the bright side, you got that far. I'm still downloading something. And, yes, I did the pre-downloads (both), as well as the downloader updater. Frustrated that today's add-on is taking longer than full loads of KOTOR and KOTOR II (one after the other) from Steam.
  • AurenRavidelAurenRavidel Member Posts: 139
I'm currently reinstalling my graphics driver to see if that makes any difference. Will post the results.
  • AurenRavidelAurenRavidel Member Posts: 139
    Same result. Le sigh.

God damn it. Last time I'm buying pre-purchase of something. Look how many people got screwed over.

Having same issue as OP, I'm actually re-downloading it again to see if it helps at all. I read someone reset their driver settings to default in the nvidia cp and that helped them..may be worth a try.

    12GB DDR3

    Geforce GTX 570

I was already half impressed when they pushed release date. Now it's just...

Let's just say with the number of people who are actually enjoying the game right now, they are not making themselves known for the right reasons. I do hope the game itself is nicely updated.

Alright, guys. Got it working. Find your Baldur application file. On my computer it was located at Program Files (x86)\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766

Right click on Baldur. Select properties. Click on the compatibility tab.

Check the box to Run this program in compatibility mode for:
    Windows Vista Service Pack 1

In the same tab, check the box to Run this program as an administrator. Apply and exit.

    Double click Baldur.

Let me know if it worked for you like it did for me.

:/ Make sure you try it twice. I tried it once, it worked. I tried it a second time, it crashed. Then it worked on the third try. Not sure why.
  • SkydreeSkydree Member Posts: 36
I've been trying every pack since you pointed out the idea. All with same results. :(

    I'm having the same problem:

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E4500 @ 2.20 GHz
NVIDIA GEForce 8600 GT - driver up to date
2.0 GB RAM (I need to get more, lol)
Windows 7 Hope Premium (32 bit)
    1680x1050 native resolution

I've tried starting the game from the .exe file in the game folder. The game crashes my computer from the standalone launcher, the client, and the .exe in the game folder, all three.

After I press the Play button I get white screen in a window where the game would start, presumably. Then I get the blue crash screen.
  • SkydreeSkydree Member Posts: 36
Is it the same error message (see OP) because I don't crash, thing just won't start.
