Change pause hotkey?

Might be the wrong area, and it might be just stupid, but I can't change the hotkey (space) for toggling pause on and off. There is a 'hard pause' under Misc in Options/Assign hotkeys, but that seems to add another key for pausing (though not unpausing) the game. Assigning space to another function seems to have no effect.

Is this intended in the new patch?
