[mod]Will I have any issue ?

Hello everyone !

20years after my first run, I decided to go back to BG. The EE + mods really made their ways to my mind so....decided to try ! :) The full trilogy, of course ;) It's Steam, so version 2.5.

I have selected a small number of mods to install, but I am afraid of crashing the game (only my second time with mods, but Morrowind was designed for so.... ;) ).

I looked through the readme, but with all the versions, I got a bit lost, and maybe some things have escaped my sight :'(

Would anyone please tell me if by this selection, I will be doomed or not ? Or if some are redundant...not sure coz there are really big ones....(I have of course taken modmerge and weidu)

    BGT does not work on EE. You have to decide whether you either want to go for BGT on a Classic BG install or for EET (Enhanced Edition Trilogy) on an EE install. All your mods are available for both IIRC, with the exception of Big Picture, which between SCS and BGT/EET has really become somewhat redundant.

    Indeed, I mixed BBT and EET, sorry. So no Big Picture, and I'll add a few things from Item Revisions and/or Scales of Balancing and/or Tweaks Anthology....

    I have a feeling it will be hard to mix NPC_EE with Faiths and Powers, given the modifications to Clerics in F&P. Not even talking about spheres.
    How does it works with the allowed kit for multiclasses in NPC EE ?

    I am thinking about playing a Loremaster of Oghma(NPC EE)/Mage...Not sure F&P and spheres would handle that...

    OK so, I followed advices and did it in that order (unless otherwise notet, everything installed)

    Banter accelerator (not a weidu, but I guess not a problem...)

    Item Revisions (save weapon changes, enchantement and dual wielding)

    T&B (specialist, Innate Find Familiar, Arcane Crafting (not working), Spell Tweaks, Metamagic, Cantrips)
    DR (save sphere system)
    FnP (did not work at all)
    refinements (HLA and Lesser Mage robes)
    SoB (functionnal weapon tweaks, universal potions, weapon profience overhaul, stat bonus overhaul)
    aTweaks (almost everything save armor/weapon, including opening dual/multi to everyone, with no race restriction, but no 3rd edition component or XP cap removal)
    EET_End
    SCS
    NPC_EE

    Tome and Blood Arcane Crafting) did not work, so I uninstalled SR to put it after. Still, T&B does not work...
    Faith and Powers also refuses to install at all.
    On a multiclass character, I can not chose a kit, though NPC EE is supposed to allow that ? (edit : ok, I am supposed to get a special ability for it...that did not appear :'( )

    Also, Clerics do not seem to be able to use Shield Fighting, as per Scales of Balances...A bit surprised I am... Did I missed something ?

    It seems that some spell do not appear....I was looking for Friends as lvl1 but....did not come, thought it is in Spell Revisions....:'(

    Do you have any ideas on what went wrong guys ? Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience....

    did you install atweaks or tweaks anthology?

    As to the other mods. I have all but Divine Remix installed and all is working well.

    I used Tweaks anthology.

    I'll try and use the EE mod setup program.
    Also, seems FnP does not go with latest SR...so will use previous one....

    might be best to post the debug logs in the individual mod forums. Without that info, it's hard to identify and fix the problem.

    Like I said, I've used those mods together, sans divine remix, many many times together and had no issues.

    I did, but doubt I will get any answer soon :) Not blaming anyone, we all have a full life :)

    I'll try to go back from scratch, using EE mod setup or infinity project...
    But I think it will not work because my patch is 2.5.16 (I mean the latest on Steam, not certain about number but definitely not the 2.5).

    Which is better ?

    Maybe it is just some specific component that makes in not compatible....should I go on a component by component instal ?
    Should the antivirus be shut down during installation of mods maybe ?

    SR changes Friends into... I forget. But it removes Friends from the game, intentionally. (Really, what good is Friends? Cheaper merchant prices? The game gives you like 500,000 gp, you really don't need cheaper prices, it's certainly not worth a spell slot.)

    Friends can actually be quite useful. Although one might eventually get a lot of gold, one does not have all that gold early on. Being able to afford good items like full plate earlier than one would otherwise is helpful.

    Hi !

    So, I've tested every problematic mod on a clean BG2EE (install mod, test, uninstall, try next one). All using the latest version I could find on Github

    - Arcane Crafting from Tome and Blood, works. As per this topic, the issue seems to be Ascension, and requieres to get rid of the gpmage.baf file . My version of TnB was 0.5.

    - Note : Spell selection dialog did not work either, but I do not care...just saying for the sake of it :)

    - Faiths and Powers (v 0.77) : worked fine. However, on the creation character screen, the cleric spells to memorize are only cure light wound...I mean 1 spell per level. But after that, it's fine, all are on the spellbook and can be memorized
    Also, for rangers, the "favored enemy" is only "by region"...which does not tell you anything about it...kinda weird...

    - Spell Revisions (4 b 16) worked fine (indeed no more Friend :'( )

    So, regarding this topic, it seems SR and this version of Faiths and Powers do not get along well. Wich can explain the inability to install.....

    - Scales of Balance(5.15) : worked fine. Mages can not use shield, so Cleric/Mage can not use Shield fighting I guess...

    - NPE-EE (3.7) worked for NPC. But, for character....I am sorry I can not find where are the menus to select a kit for multiclassed character....Upon creation, I go for a multiclass, and then skill, spells and such immediately. Upon playing...Maybe I miss something but I am unable to find where, and it is not an innate ability either :'( (even thought the readme says it).

    You're using a very old version of T&B. Use this link (https://github.com/subtledoctor/TomeAndBlood/releases)

    F&P - this is normal behavior on the spell selection at character creation. All that gets displayed are the Universal spells. After the character is generated, as you said, all sphere spells are there. Not sure on the rangers, never played one.

    Regarding SR (v4b16) & F&P (.77SD10), you're using the latest versions so not sure why it would've failed before.

    NPC_EE - the kit change ability no longer works on the main character. @subtledoctor removed that function a few versions ago.

    Those versions of SR and R&P look like they do not work together, as said on Github...so i'll just use an older SR ;)

    So, I guess only way to kit the main character is EEKeeper ? Why does the NPC EE setups still proposes tat option then ? Am I on an old version too ?

    He can correct me of course, but I think he removed it as an option for the player character since you get to pick whatever kit you want at character creation.

    Still not following your SR & F&P issue. Are you using F&P from here https://github.com/subtledoctor/Faiths_and_Powers/releases? That and SR v4b16 work fine last time I installed them together.

    Hi guys !

    So, installed everything again, and it seems to work, thanks ! :)

    However, I am facing 2 related problems

    - arcane crafting (again) from T&B seems to be only working with pure-class unkitted mages/sorcerers : even a specialist mage will not have it, a basic fighter/mage neither, let alone a special kit like Druid of Silvanus....is that normal ?

    - I tried to add that feature with EEKeeper...but even though it is added in the innate, the memorization stays at 0, and even after a rest in game....the ability does no appear in the bars. I added the same one as a regular mage with working arcane crafting ability would have so....not sure what I did wrong...

    (and yes I did a research before...but that issue was never revealed...)

    So, clean install : arcane crafting only on pure mages...
    Guess I need to find a way to put in through EEkeeper :)

    So, I've been struggling with a new installation after some issues. I have settled on this config :

    The other day, it worked well but I had to reinstall again cause other issue...
    Now, Sword Coast Stratagem does not want to install Oo !!! How weird....Seems it can not find a specific file for copy.... No debug file so nothing to share....I am gonna reinstal the game fresh...again...
    Has that ever happened to someone ?
