Using Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale music in a Skyrim mod? who to contact?

Any idea who I'd need to contact for a permission request to utilize icewind dale or baldur's gate music in a music mod for Skyrim?

Or what their terms of use are on assets in other game's mods?

Much appreciated.

Now I'm severely under-qualified to say this but I think as long as you don't monetize the music you should be able to use it but if you make money off the mod then it becomes illegal.

Edit: I know there's a skyrim mod that adds tracks from The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings and to my knowledge there's been no legal action.

Generally you are okay if you do not sell it, though the owner has full rights to say "You can't use that.", and then you would have to comply. But I'm sure you can directly ask Beamdog too and be extra safe.

You could also always score your own music, that is what I did for my mods, though it does add to your development time.

The Mod Nexus is pretty strict so I am trying to do everything by the book.

The response I got fro beam dog was.

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting Beamdog support.

We have no general restrictions using our assets for other content, mod's, etc. The only requirement is that there is no monetary gain from these assets.

Thank you and have a great day!
