Release familiar from pack bug when importing character to SoD

So I imported my character from BG:EE with the familiar in the pack. Tried to release it in SoD, which I can, but it just disappears after that. Some easy fix for this? Is it a general bug or am I unlucky?

    Cast the familiar spell again, maybe?

    I have only ever seen this happen if you change your alignment.

    @Skitia I did this, but it won't work because it says I already cast the spell and summoned the familiar.. :neutral:

    @AionZ I have not changed my alignment. I found a couple of others with the same problems but with no clear solution or explanation.

    Anything come of this? I’m having the same problem, just imported my beastmaster on iPad from BG1 to SOD, and my familiar disappeared and I can’t get a new one. I’d love to find a workaround if there is one.

    Edit: found out if you save in SOD, close, then reload, you can recast the FF spell and it works fine.
