Will Beamdogs upcoming patch for IWD:EE bork my current install + mods?

Trying to figure out how to prevent auto updates on Steam, but there are no options to do so. Only different ways to update.

Is there a method to prevent updating for Steam? I read the patch will cover mostly things I do not need/want.
