NWN EE not launching

As the title says, my game refuses to launch.

Whenever I click the Play button on Steam, the game appears to begin launching but...nothing happens. No error message, no crash message- just nothing. I can see the process for the game in my Task Manager, but it's only a background process. I just bought myself this game for Christmas and I was really enjoying it

Does anyone have a solution? I'm not tech savvy at all, and I'm super sad over this

Do you have any antivirus software active? It sometimes blocks the game from creating the necessary folders in your Documents-folder, thus not allowing the game to start. If that is the case, you will need to add NWN:EE to the exceptions list in the software.
