Why did the devs changed restricted schools for mages?

I wanted to play as an Invoker, but it's opposite school is different from Baldur's Gate.
Why did the devs, Black Isle, changed it from BG? Couldn't they just keep it same?
Well, what's done is what's done. Therefore I can't ask Beamdog to change it, but at least I just want to know a reason. Does anyone know why did they do it?

There is a slight trade-off: some spells have multiple schools (lore-wise), and are usable if any of their schools are not opposed, such as:
- Melf's Minute Meteors, Fire Shields, Otiluke's Freezing Sphere, Death Fog, and Tenser's Transformation (Evocation + Alteration), usable by any specialist, since conjurers&enchanters can use alteration, and abjurers can use evoaction.
- Wizard's Eye (Divination + Alteration)
- Limited Wish / Wish (Conjuration + Evocation)
- Spellstrike (Alteration + Abjuration)
In BG, these spells were either assigned to just a single school (and it's restrictions) or were restricted from any specialist that opposed any of their schools. This
