Vampiric touch by Aec'lectec

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
My solo sorcerer just got to the cultists basement. I have xp cap removed so I can enjoy some spell immunity fun. It works great with the demon knight. I put on immunity to necromancy for the vampiric touch before tanking Aec'lectec, but it provides no protection at all. I tried with Edwin's cast on the sorcerer too, it shows a message of "spell ineffective". Does the vampiric touch by Aec'lectec have some special flag to it?

    Aec'letec's uses innate versions of Silence, Hold Person, and Vampiric Touch. They have no school or type, but they're still magical (resist/dispel).
