Can I install quest mods, particularly the Colors of Infinity mods, mid-game?

I downloaded TotDG, but realized that I should probably get the other ones in the series for the full experience. I'm almost done with Chapter 2. Will installing these mess up my game or other mods?

You definitely don't want to screw with mods in the middle of a game. The probability of hopeless corrupting your save game is so close to 1 as to be indistinguishable.

Believe me, though, I understand. I went through Irenicus' dungeon dozens of times before I got my mods sorted.

Thank you! I believe there's a mod that lets you skip the dungeon, I think its called Dungeon-Be-Gone!

If any quest mod involves adding a new area to the game map, that area will NOT show up on the map if installed mid-game. The map can't be altered once the game has already started, so you'd be prevented from accessing any area that the mod would normally add.

There's a newer and more modern mod that could do exactly that. It's called Skip Chateau Irenicus. I'd recommended this one. It's doing the job in a more immersive way than Dungeon-be-Gone.

@dargoon as @Cahir said: use Skip Chateau Irenicus if you want to have a possibility to shorten the escape from Irenicus' Dungeon. "Dungeon be Gone" solves this rather immersion breaking.

Yes, but I am also using Argent's Golem Construction mod, and a lot of the starter components and books are in there. I believe you would miss out on those items if you didn't run the dungeon.
