Reinstallation after format and recovery of the backup (modded game)

Hello everybody,
Recently I have had to reinstall Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I made a backup of both the game directory and the user data directory prior to reinstalling Windows. By the time I made the backup copies, I was playing chapter 9 of Siege of Dragonspear. I had mods installed, mainly many tweaks.
I was planning to install my copy of the game (from GOG) directly on C:\, as I usually do. I would run the game once then, just in case it is a necessary step. Finally, I would paste my backed up copies over the recently created on the installation of the game. This way I would save the hassle of having to install all the mods again. Do you think this would work? Thank you.
