Tips on making the Shadowdancer fun to play?

The class seems cool in theory but it's a bit much to manually restealth and backstab every round. I hear proper use of the shadowdancer is all about positioning.

I think shadowdancers are a lot of fun to play. They can do a lot of things that other thieves cannot do with their hide in plain sight. The ability to go invisible practically at will is incredibly powerful, and I think it makes up for their lack of fighting skills. Even before they get a backstab multiplier, they can do things that would be pretty much suicide for almost all other classes in the game, such as solo Kahrk. Certainly, the class takes a bit of micromanaging to utilize fully, but they are incredibly powerful when used right.

Timing. Learn to time the stealth cooldown time, it's six seconds, or only 3 seconds when hasted. I usually do a weapon switch to stop the stealth without actually leaving stealth/ becoming visible, then count to 5 or 6 seconds before making my attack. This allows me to re enter stealth immediately after my attack. It gets old after awhile, though, so i mix it up with ranged attacks/ sniping and playing around with shadowstep.

I'm not sure if this helps, because it can be "a bit much" and maybe exactly what you are doing already?
