If an evil character doesn't do any evil deeds while in my party or force me to do so, I think that's ok for a good protagonist. Most evil companions in BG just tend to complain when charname is good but don't put them into moral dilemmas.
if i remember correctly, you actually don't have to kill dynaheir with edwin in your group, i remember in the vanilla days having dynaheir join my group with edwin in it, and at first he protests hard, but then he says something on the lines of; hmm this could be interesting, now i can study her or some such like that
even if edwin is evil, he sure is hell is a push over, thanks to that low CHA, especially in ToB when you summon him through the "fate wall thingy?" and use the "evil" option and tell him to be quiet for once, simply priceless
