Client Install Dead End

Firstly, I am a Mac user (Unfortunately, right?) and I am running Big Sur, ver. 11.5.2
I went ahead and downloaded and then executed the Beamdog client. So far what I'm getting is a window showing a 'B' for the client followed by '>>>' directing me to my 'applications folder.' However, navigating to either the package contents of my Baldur's Gate Icon or the hidden Baldur's Gate directory does... Nothing. Neither does creating a new folder for the client in my applications folder and there is no indication whatsoever that I can see as to just exactly what I am supposed to do with the window described above. Could somebody please enlighten me as to the process here? Thank you.
