Cordyr and the Sirens

Questions about Cordyr and the Sirens Quest you get in South Baldur's Gate...

- Is it an actual Journal Quest?
- If you've already killed Sil and her Sirens, can you still get the quest and complete it (I'm hearing that whether or not you've already encountered/killed them makes zero difference and you just talk to him again for the reward and quest closure?)

Can someone confirm? Thanks!

    Yes, to both. Talk to him once for the quest, talk to him again with Sil dead for the reward (1000 XP and a scroll).

    The trick to it is that it's reputation-based; you can only get the quest if your reputation is 14 or less, so you're only likely to see it in an evil playthrough.

    There's another evil-side quest in the city as well - fetching a body (or two) for Arkion. That one's reaction-based, so talking to him with a party member of sufficiently low charisma will get it even if you have paragon rep. Quayle's a good option here.

    bgqe expands on this quest so it can also be picked up if rep is higher and also can be solved without killing Sil.
