@Ludwig_II I've added (*) to the issues that remain.

Also EET is actually the only setup I've tested it on.

Great, thank you. Hopefully I’ll start testing your version in BGEE soon.

Just wanted to echo that I'm really looking forward to future updates to this mod, and check in frequently :)

This mod has potential but i found a few annoying things:

1 - The position of the dialog box inside the toolbar at the bottom, i could increase its size but i couldnt move it.

2 - The red color/graphics of the buttons.

3 - The font's letters are a bit lighter than they should, i prefer the bold fonts from Lefreut's UI, they are easier for the eyes.

4 - The transparent GUI behind the dialog boxes.

Dialog box has a setting in UI settings to unlock. Then you can move it anywhere you like

I see, thanks for the info. :#

But still, this is something that needs to be changed, it makes no sense that the dialog box is displayed in the toolbar in the bottom.

Guys, I have a problem. When i select “move to the bottom of the screen” in the mod options, the character portraits overlap the interface. I play on a laptop with a screen resolution of 1366x768. Is there a way to fix this? I really like it when the portraits are below

Awesome mod, and it works with Portraits Portraits Everywhere too! (Dragonspear UI did not).

However I've encountered a bug, when using the latest version of the UI mod I get the following error pop up window when starting the game. Clicking "OK" let's me proceed with game loading and everything works fine.

@Robolcer That error comes from the SCS component "Thieves assign skill points in multiples of five" if you uninstall that component the error will go away.

@robocler @FoxySherufanir No need to uninstall it. If you can open the UI.MENU file in the override folder with your notepad of preference and go down to the line the error message says (31167 here), you'll be at the code that determines the effects of the skill point button.

You'll see there are five repeated lines, each one dictating an increase of of one point to whatever thieving skill. This is done by the SCS component. But you'll also see the first of the five lines having a blank space looking like
    - -

I think this is done by Infinite++ for some reason. SCS being applied afterwards, repeats the lines without the spacing, probably not expecting the format change.

You only need to copy that spacing from the first line and paste it behind each of the following ones; or copy the entire first line and replace the whole of the other four with it. You'll have to repeat the process for the three following blocks of code that will look similar (with different functions and variables I think, so don't paste the line of one block onto another).

I think the error is meaningless though and no correction is needed for the code to perform as expected? But still, it's an easy fix just to not see the message every time you boot the game.

I noticed a problem, probably caused only in french version.

When I leave the game and it ask me if I want to save, there's no button to choose from.

This is such a cool UI. Too bad I can't use it personally because using ESC key to close opened tooltips doesn't work and it just closes the entire menu.

Like when you open the description of a spell in the mage book, your only option to close it is to click the X. Same for bags of holding. In dragonspear you could close the description with ESC key.

    Looking forward to more updates

    Hi, two issues worth presenting.

    1) On the save screen on my MacBook M2, the button text is misaligned.

    4hbwge8nmcc6.png

    2) On my list of mods, when I attempted to start a new character in BG1 I would gain 89,000 experience, as a starting SoA character. Uninstalling Infinity UI (and none of my other mods) is what prevented this. Here is a list of my installed mods.

There are many bugs with this mod. Apart from the ones listed (SCS install fail, character icons misalignment with "modern option", deleting memorized spells doesnt work):
    • Dual classing has no final "OK" button
    • Moving between locations on the world map has no button
    • Stat comparison (AC, THAC0, etc) when switching gear doesnt show the +/- difference
    • Clicking on quest pop up text doesnt lead to the actual quest entry
    • many other

Is the development still ongoing? I am only using this mod because Portraits Portraits Everywhere (PPE) works with it but not with Dragonspear UI++ :(

Guys, I have a problem. When i select “move to the bottom of the screen” in the mod options, the character portraits overlap the interface. I play on a laptop with a screen resolution of 1366x768. Is there a way to fix this? I really like it when the portraits are below

    Turn off large portraits setting.

I've commented in this thread a while ago about my recognized fixes, suggested changes to the UI and the "blue" version of the main skin skin.

To keep control of my own changes, I've made a fork on GitHub: https://github.com/dtiefling/InfinityUI.

I try to keep commits specifically well described and atomic in this fork. So I believe that this sort of organization of my work is temporary, specific to the current beta. And @Pecca - you might want to incorporate some bugfixes. Perhaps you want a pull request?

Anyways, I will think about the best possible course of action when something news comes to the main repository. I expect the merge to be somewhat hard, so I might end up reviewing it all manually. For now, I've just shared what I use.

I noticed that if you install a mod on the interface design, difficulty slider of sword coast stratagems does not work everywhere, it simply does not exist.
    But your mod is perfect!

    @Universe thanks!

If you try really hard, look through this thread, patch SCS manually and install it after this mod (my fork included), it would look and work properly. Another option is:

    C:CreateCreature("dw#diffi")

    Some questions:

    1. Does this work with BGEET?

    2. Do I have to start a fresh install and/or save game to use this?

    3. Is there a readme where I can read up on the individual install components?

    4. Can I fully uninstall the mod at any time without having to wipe my game and reinstall anew? Testing this out in Icewind Dale and the answer so far seems to be yes

    5. Where is the best place to report inconsistencies and bugs?

    6. Do you have any plans to overhaul the aesthetic to match the specific IE game you are playing (ex: wood and snow UI style for IWD) or will it be just one consistent look across all IE games? Just found out you can do this in-game (AMAZING!)

    7. Is this compatible in multiplayer (ex: any potential issues with seeing all players inventory screens at once)?

What I have to say is that @Pecca is doing fantastic job and I love it! I loved Dragonspear UI++, but this work goes much further beyond. Even in the 0.51 beta, I use it successfully and would say that it is functionally the best UI for IE games, ever.

Since I just loved the novelty and started using it, I was able to notice some issues. Some of them are fixable easily enough, which only makes it clear that this approach will lead to a new standard pretty soon, stable enough to be presented to non-technical users.

(*) stands for issues that I wasn't able to hotfix with my meddling.

The issues I've noticed in a long EET playthrough with >100 mods:
    • HLA screen breaks the game when I click "plus" on any ability (just copied the CHARGEN_HIGH_LEVEL_ABILITIES menu from Dragonspear UI++ to keep playing, the result is inconsistent at worst, but usable).

    @drunktiefling

I'm having a breaking bug related with HLA selection on level up, and possibly Infinity UI++

My main char just leveled up from lv. 18 to 19, but when I go to the HLA selection screen the game become stuck (screenshot below in window-mode, it happens also in full-screen).

I could chose a HLA (improved alacrity) the previous level-up without problem.

I've also chosen a second HLA for keldorn right now, as he also leveled up from 18 to 19, without problem.

Could you explain to me better how I should copy that "CHARGEN_HIGH_LEVEL_ABILITIES menu from Dragonspear UI++ "? Thanks

I cannot reproduce this but I think I know what is causing it. There is a wrong scrollbar asset on HLA menu, which may cause crash on some systems. Try to fix it by opening UI.menu file in the override and replacing all occurences of:
    rgpscrl
    with
    rgdscrl1

    1. yes
    2. no
    3. only what is in the OP, also some functions are described in the UI++ settings menu
    4. base component is just copy-paste, that's completely safe
    5. here in this thread and thanks for that
    6. so far only settings menu is completed with all 4 skins, more in the future
    7. not tested, but there should be no problems

I have just tried the mod out and I think I can say it looks great so far...

    I have one question though:

There is another UI mod by lefreut that allows HLAs in Icewind Dale EE by adding the selection screen for them that was cut from the vanilla edition. Some other mods also support this solution, like Skills and Abilities by morpheus562.

I like the idea a lot of going through IWDEE again also using HLAs.

Is there any chance this option could be made available with this new mod (if it hasn't been already)?

    Just a thought...
