OpenAl will not load

I recently purchased a new pc. I have been trying to download games using Beamdog Client. It almost loads but then says Open Al will not load. How can I fix this issue?

Download it yourself from here (OpenAL website). You should only need the zipped installer.

I seem to be having the opposite issue with OpenAL. I had to have Windows 10 reloaded on my machine and verified all my game installations through the BDC. It attempted to download and install OpenAL, but the installation failed. However, I can load both the Development and Retail branches of NWN:EE and all their respective DLC just fine. Do I still need OpenAL to play NWN:EE, or is it no longer essential?

As for OpenAL, if it works, then it means it's still installed. Yes, it's required for the games to work.

    Isn’t OpenAL-Soft an updated version? https://www.openal-soft.org/

See this wikipedia page that deals with a number of variants of OpenAL.

Just thought I should drop a line here and say for the past week, I was unable to confirm my new email address because I had not received the confirmation email after clicking the link. Just clicked the link again 20 minutes ago, and the confirmation email finally made it to my inbox. I was able to confirm my new email address, and all is well. My thanks to all those involved in the resolution of this issue.

The OpenAL issue was probably from a previous installation, and the BDC just had to re-download the missing files. Thanks again.
