Minsc keeps getting 17 strength for no reason

Hi all,

I have Minsc in my party, and every so often, his strength is lowered to 17. When I check his record sheet, there seems no reason for this: no level drain, no energy drain, etc. Anyone know what is going on? Cheers.

Only thing I can think of (which is probably not the cause or you would have noticed) is that he has an item equipped that sets the strength to 17?

Does he have the Shield of Balduran equipped? That lowers strength by 1, which would drop him to 17. And it would only take effect while his primary weapon was one-handed; if he were using a bow or a two-hander, the shield would be inactive.
