Problem with save game in Steam after formatting

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
Hello, I play on the computer and Steam, but after formatting the PC I was unable to continue the game. Even though it says that the saves are saved in the cloud, nothing happens when I click the "continue" button.

    Make sure you have the cloud saves option enabled in the game, in Options. You need to create a manual save and close the game. The system will check for cloud saves then.

    Thanks, I tried but it didn't work. I think I really lost my save.
    I tried to create a new character, but I just started everything over again, nothing from my old game appears.
    Thanks for the help. Next time I will save it correctly.

    Oof. Yeah, the tricky thing with our games is that you need to enable the setting in-game in Options, not in the Steam app (that's due to the old code of them). Maybe you didn't have cloud saves enabled in the previous install.

    That must have been it. It discouraged me to start all over again, maybe I'll start his sequel.
