Jan companion?

Has anyone ever thought of giving Jan some companion? Could be furry, or semi-mechanistic like a tiny old goblin sitting in some kind of container on his back and may use a tiny bow that creates mini+1 arrows automatically (doing 1D2 damage only). In Warcraft3 we had the alchemist hero and I think that hero had some companion on the back:

Something like this may be interesting for Jan. But it could also be some kind of animal that may fit to Ian ... or a pseudodragon or fairy dragon or something.

Some mods offer some companions; I think one of Skitia's NPCs has that, Gustav I think; we also have Boo and Minsc. And probably a few more spread out in different mods. And sometimes NPC mods bring add-on ideas, like Dwaradime has this waxy thing for styling his beard.

Anyway - just some loose ideas really. Jan is one of the best NPCs in the vanilla game, IMO, that is kind of a fun guy, even if he is slightly underpowered compared to e. g. Edwin.

    Can Edwin steal for you the best items right at the beginning of SoA or set HLA traps or find and disarm traps? The Red Wizard obviously is really powerful being a specialist Mage with his amulet that grants more spells. But Jan covers a different role and is really good at it: being specialist he gets more spells then the other multi, at cap xp ge can memorize 3 lev 9 spells, Aerie or a multi (not gnome) Charname only 2, and he has his own special items that make him almost as good as a single class Thief. You can not compre them just like you can not compare Edwin and Korgan, but Jan in his role is a top tier NPC.
    A mod that gives him a companion wolud be welcome, after all he did try to steal Boo (even if that part was cut by the original develpoers due to disk space limitations), he wants a companion. A miniaturized Giant Hamster figurine that for a short time can attack the enemies, with a save or be blinded (go for the eyes Boo) can be the right one. As he could not steal the real Boo he made it as a substitute.
