BGEE-SoD Doubts:

I'm finally going to start playing this, after years of buying it and not feeling like doing it.
My idea is to start a campaign in BGEE, go to SoD, both in Insane, complete them, and then replay both games again in LoB with those characters at a good level. I'm not going to start LoB at level 1, I've already done that with Icewind Dale several times and I don't feel like it with Baldur's.
Doubts:
A) I don't want to play the new NPCs beyond doing their quests, and then kick them out; I prefer to make a custom group myself, and I always lean towards 'ranged' characters and spellcasters, I don't like melee too much. I don't know if this group will be competent for all situations in Insane and LoB:
4 Dragon Disciples; I know that plain sorcerers have more spells/casts, but I prefer that passive fire resistance and the extra hit points.
1 F/M/T, because I need some thief, and if it adds spells and a good bow, the better.
1 Fighter/mage? I doubt here... Having an extra 'archer' is good for necessary moments, and more spells... right?
How many Spell Immunity scrolls are there in the game? There isn't one in the BG1, are they available in stores or at any drop? Do I have to wait until almost the end of the game to get one in Siege of Dragonspear? I find it 'necessary' for the final fight... my sorcerers should have it by then, but if there is only one scroll, my two wizards wouldn't have it, only 1...
C) Any advice is welcome.

I will use summons for that... anyway a F/M with stoneskin/images is a good tank imo.
No doubt, but I found this a little disappointing since you don't get extra XP like you do in Icewind 1/2 HOF mode, with LoB on...
