Did I hit maximum XP???

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I have a problem. My party does not gain anymore experience when killing things. They are level 7-10. Does this mean I hit max level? My main char, a warrior is level 8. Do different chars max out at different levels?

    XP cap in BGEE is at 161,000 XP. It means level 8 to 10 depending of the classes.

    Hmm... But Jaheira is only level 7. She is multi class though.

    Edit: She has 80500 xp which means half of 161k. So they are all max level I understand now.

    Indeed, multiclass characters have their XP divide between their classes.
    A multiclass character have a level for each of his classes, so Jaheira is not just level 7, but probably level 7 fighter / level 8 druid.
