Equipment just laying around everywhere?

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
I finished BG1 and then Siege Of Dragonspear started automatically right after.
4 of my characters (the ones who died fighting Sarevok) have most of their equipment everywhere on the floor and some of the gear is missing...
Is this normal or is something wrong?

    When you continue the game from BG1 into SoD, anything lying on the ground gets brought into the new area. And dying party members drop their stuff.

    What appears to be missing?

    Ok that explains why everything was on the ground.
    I don't remember anymore what was missing. I started a new playthrough on original BG1 instead of playing SoD.
