Garrick can't cast spells?

When I put armor on Garrick the game says "your wizard spells have been disabled" or something like that. But even after removing his armor and putting spells in his spellbook and resting 8 hours he still can't cast spells. The spell button is darkened. Why is this?

That shouldn't happen.

The only thing I can think of is that there might be a bit of a mix up with here with the spellbook and memorized spells. You learn spells from scrolls to put into the spellbook, then you need to select the spells you want to cast per rest to have them memorized. Bards gain their first spellslot on level 2 so if you have Garrick on level 1 he can't cast anything yet and if you're over that then double check that you've slotted a spell into the memorized spells.

If that is not the case then I don't know what is going on.

I did memorize the spell from the spellbook and he is level 2 so this is very strange indeed.

EDIT: I restarted the game and it works now! Thank you!
