No XP for captain Brage quest?

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
If I remember correctly you are supposed to get like 1000xp for completing captain Brage quest by returning him to the temple in Nashkel. All I got this time was only 1000 gold. Is this a bug or something? Thankful for help.

    This seems like a bug. Did you also receive his sword after handing him over to the priest? And he is alive, yes?

    He was alive and I did get the sword yes. Strange....
    Thanks for the answer.

    Edit: I even reloaded a save and tried again and same thing happened. I only got 1000 gold and the sword but no XP.

    Isn't the xp rewarded when you solve the riddle, before the transition to the temple ? i don't remember.
    How do you know you didn't get the xp ? Did you check your character(s) xp before/after the event, or is it just missing in the text ?

    It is missing in the text. It says only that I gained 1000 gold.

    As said earlier, XP reward is given before going back to the temple, just after Brage gave you his sword and potion. You should see the XP gain right after the sword and potion received in the text.
