Robbed sarcophagus in the Southern Dungeons

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
the southernmost room in the Southern Dungeons under the Lower Tombs in the Graveyard District contains a sarcophagus that shows some text saying it has been looted by grave robbers and they took the fingers of the corpse, most probably for some ring that was on them. question is, can you somehow have access to the treasure that the robbers took from the tomb? i was thinking maybe it was robbed by Stein, the grave robber that appears in the Graveyard District, and if you kill him, then you can find the treasure in that sarcophagus.

    That's Korgan's quest. Recruit him, and you'll find out about the treasure and eventually recover it. Though the original person he intended to sell it to is no longer available, so you'll have to settle for a (presumably lower) price from some random shop.

    I don't want to spoil the quest for you. Why not just play it? It's all available immediately after recruiting Korgan, doesn't require you to leave Athkatla, and doesn't feature any high-level threats.

    Mind you, Korgan is not all that nice of a person, as you will find out. He is, however, the only decent berserker available as an NPC. Minsc, aside from the fact that he is an overtly delusional psychotic, isn't all that reliable in that role.
