Montaron/Xzar wouldn't join my new party last night, is this a bug?

I didn't want to post in the bug forum unless I was sure it wasn't a storyline element. Are there any circumstances (alignment, etc.) in which they won't join?

    Does your main char have low charisma? I've seen a couple of posts with the same issue with other NPCs and that seemed to be the problem.

    Check your charisma. I suggest to take almost 9 during character creation.

    That's the thing; I was playing a goody two-shoes beautiful elven maiden with 18 charisma. Will they join a neutral good PC?

    Yes they will. What conversation options did you choose when talking to them?

    This problem affected me once on launch and hasn't occurred since, don't worry about it.

    Montaron/Xzar are jerks anyways, I never keep them for long

    I group them strip them then send them on their way

    Indeed! Xzar is jolly good fun! However I kinda dislike Montaron. He lacks the... overwhelming insanity of his partner.
    (Really need to have a run with Xzar, Edwin, Xan and the two gnomes sometime... ;P)
