Near Infinity oddity

Hello all from a newcomer,

Here is my question,
I recently created a new creature by copying an existing one in Near Infinity and changing its name and Tooltip ( I took FTOWB5.CRE and save in FTOWB5a.CRE) and located it in a Baldur's Gate City's generic home. The creature does appear in game but not at all in the Near Infinity's Area Viewer. Any thought about this odd thing? Thanks to all

    How did you place it into the area? (If you insert it via the area script it will not be in the .are ressource.)

    As a matter of fact, it indeed came to create a mod with script, .baf, .tpe files . Does it mean that the only way to see the creature appearing in the area viewer of Near Infinity is to modify the area in NI by creating from scratch an "actor" in the Edit menu?
